Pentre Mawr House, a Grade II listed building, stands proudly within its expansive grounds, now a municipal park in Abergele, Wales.
With origins dating back to the 17th century, the house was first mentioned in records from 1697. Once part of the historic Jones family estate, the Jones-Bateman family lived here for over 300 years. In the 1830s, John Jones-Bateman remodelled the house in the striking Tudor Gothic style, and a significant restoration took place in the 1850s after part of the house was damaged by fire
R M B Conservation has played an integral role in two major phases of the house’s conservation. This has included vital masonry repairs, repointing, chimney repairs, lime rendering, and external decoration using breathable paint. In addition to joinery and window repairs, an extensive roof refurbishment has ensured the building’s longevity.
