Company Director Rory Moore recently provided an update to the Ruthin Clock Committee on the progress of the conservation work on the historic Clock Tower.
This important project, funded by contributions from the Clocaenog Wind Farm Community Fund, Denbighshire County Council, and The National Lottery Heritage Fund, is dedicated not only to safeguarding the clock’s future but also to reinforcing its place as a valued landmark within the community.
Rory shared the details of the ongoing work, which includes the careful cleaning, repointing, and consolidation of weakened stonework. In areas where the stone has significantly worn, selected sections will be replaced with new, high-quality stone which will provide additional protection against the elements. These measures ensure that the Clock Tower’s historic character is preserved whilst readying it to stand the test of time for future generations.
